Lego First Robotics National Competition will take place at the Edward Jones Dome again. Even if you do not take a team, it would be a very exciting event to attend. In addition to the competition this year, they had several entertainers including: Willow Smith, Miley Cyrus, and Black Eyed Peas. For more information, check out St. Louis First.

Destination Imagination
Last year, my students experienced Destination Imagination for the first time. We had five teams participate. Two teams, The DIsastrous Dudes and the Wrangler BanDIts, advanced to the state competition. The Wrangler BanDIts advanced to Global Finals in Knoxville, Tennessee. Global Finals is an experience that I'll never forget!
I'm very excited about the 2012 Destination Imagination challenges! I can't wait to see which challenges my teams choose.

Young Inventor Challenge
Any of our young inventors interested in creating a new toy? The Young Inventor Challenge looks like a really great opportunity for showing off creativity and engineering skills. The Chicago Toy & Game Fair (ChiTAG) will be held at the Fair on Saturday, November 19 at Chicago's Navy Pier, and it sounds like fun for the whole family!

Terrific Tech Tools for Teaching
If you are like me, you have several 3-ring binders on a shelf with tabs marking your favorite lessons. Why not use binders to organize your Internet sites? I've recently discovered Live Binders, and I have found it very useful for presentations. You can also search for binders that may already include the items you are looking for...very cool stuff. Check out my live binder I created for our summer professional development day.
